REGISTER FOR OUR UPCOMING SINGING CLASSES!
Starting Tuesday January 23!
Ages 5-10:  9:30am
Ages 11+:  10:30am
In this hour long weekly class, students will learn about general musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch, dynamics, note reading, music theory, sight singing, harmony, form, texture etc. In addition to those concepts, the older group will work on learning music theory through the playing of recorders (recorders will need to be purchased and is not included in the cost) and perhaps a group percussion class. The second part of the lesson will be being part of a chorus that will have the opportunity to perform at community events and recitals as a chorus and there will also solo opportunities if so desired. Lessons will be engaging and age appropriate. All materials are included with the class cost.

“Music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul.”
― Johann Sebastian Bach
Music has always been a favorite blessing to The Lutheran Academy, Scranton.  The past two years we have witnessed a tremendous growth and fine quality to our music education under the direction of Mr. Carsten Bjornstad.  For the Fall of 2017, The Lutheran Academy is establishing the School of Fine Arts to further nourish the gift of music in the lives of our student body, and further, share that gift of music instruction and performance with the community at large.
